Every figure on this page is computed from the inputs you enter, by the method stated below it. The only constants DoorsetBook supplies are the published check frequencies and the storey height they apply from, cited where used. The defaults are a worked example to replace with your own.

Fire door inspection frequency has one statutory answer and one risk-based one. In England, Regulation 10 of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 sets quarterly checks of common-part fire doors and annual checks of flat entrance doors for multi-occupied residential buildings over 11 metres. For every other premises the fire risk assessment sets the frequency, and the responsible person has to be able to show the doors are maintained. The fire door maintenance plan on this site sets the programme per building, free; DoorsetBook Pro puts the checks on the calendar.

Quarterly: the common parts on Regulation 10

All fire doors in the common parts, including the self-closing devices, every quarter, recorded. The maintenance plan on this site schedules them; Pro reminds the responsible person before each is due.

Annually: the flat entrance doors

On a best endeavour basis, because the resident has to let the inspector in; the attempts and the refusals are recorded as well as the checks.

Everywhere else: what the risk assessment says

Offices, schools, care homes, hotels and shops set the frequency in the fire risk assessment, with a higher frequency where the doors are heavily used or the occupants are vulnerable. The plan carries the frequency per building.

The calendar and the record

Each check due, each done, each missed, per door. Pro keeps the calendar and the register. From the vendor's own pricing page, IgnisTrack is £49 per user per month, £45 per user for two to four users and £40 for five to nine; DoorsetBook Pro is £49 per month for the whole building portfolio, and every tool on this site computes free with no account.
